Microsoft Teams

Connect Microsoft Teams to receive call notifications and summaries directly in your Teams channels.

What It Does

  • Call alerts — Get notified in Teams when calls start and end
  • Call summaries — Receive rich Adaptive Card summaries with sentiment indicators
  • Appointment notifications — Alerts when your agent books an appointment
  • Alert notifications — Severity-coded alerts for complaints and urgent matters

How to Connect

Open Integrations

Go to Dashboard > Integrations and find Microsoft Teams.

Click Connect

Click the Connect button. You’ll be redirected to Microsoft’s sign-in page.

Sign In and Authorize

Sign in with your Microsoft account and grant Akol permission to access your Teams.

Select a Team and Channel

Choose which Team and channel should receive notifications.

You’re Connected

You’ll be redirected back to Akol. Notifications will appear in your selected channel.

Microsoft Teams uses the same Microsoft account as Outlook Calendar. If you’ve already connected Outlook, you may not need to sign in again.

Settings

Choose Your Team and Channel

  1. Go to Dashboard > Integrations > Microsoft Teams
  2. Click Settings
  3. Select your preferred Team and channel
  4. Click Save

Troubleshooting

Not Receiving Notifications

  1. Verify the correct Team and channel are selected
  2. Check that the Akol app hasn’t been removed from your Teams workspace
  3. Try disconnecting and reconnecting

”Insufficient Permissions” Error

  1. You need to be a Team owner or have permission to install apps
  2. Ask your Teams administrator to approve the Akol integration

Connection Expired

  1. Microsoft tokens expire periodically — Akol refreshes them automatically
  2. If notifications stop, try disconnecting and reconnecting to generate a fresh token

Tips

  1. Use a dedicated channel — Create a channel like “Akol Notifications” to keep things organized
  2. Share with your team — Make sure everyone who needs call visibility is in the channel
  3. Use Adaptive Cards — Teams notifications include interactive cards with call details
