Contacts Directory

  • Contacts — New centralized contact directory under Dashboard > Contacts. Every phone number that interacts with your business is now automatically tracked with name, email, company, tags, and call history
  • Auto-creation — Contacts are created automatically when inbound or outbound calls complete. Names extracted by the AI agent during calls are saved to the contact record
  • Search & Filter — Search contacts by name, phone, email, or company. Filter by business when you have multiple
  • Export — Download your contacts as a CSV file with current filters applied
  • Contact Detail Page — View and edit contact info, manage tags and notes, and see full call history with inline AI summaries
  • Manual Add — Add contacts manually from the dashboard with phone number, name, email, and company

Voice Engine & Call Transfer Improvements

  • Call Transfer Toggle — New master toggle to enable/disable call transfers per business, with requirement for at least one department when enabled
  • Mutation Interrupt Protection — Voice engine now protects against mid-mutation interrupts for more reliable call handling
  • Idempotency — Added idempotency guards to prevent duplicate call actions
  • CRM Lookup — AI agent can now look up caller information in your CRM during calls
  • DTMF Input — Support for touch-tone keypad input during calls
  • Caller ID Auto-Use — Agent no longer asks for phone number when caller ID is available

  • Unified Business Wizard — Quick Setup and Full Setup merged into a single step-by-step wizard with 9 steps including Knowledge Base, AI Tools, and Transfer configuration
  • Knowledge Base — Upload PDF, Word, and text documents for your AI agent to reference during calls (replaces the old AI Context feature)
  • Hold Music Upload — Upload your own hold music files (MP3/WAV/OGG) instead of entering a URL
  • Free Plan Update — Free Plan now includes unlimited agents, phone numbers, businesses, and integrations with 30 minutes per month
  • Simplified Billing — Removed 14-day free trial; paid plans are now charged immediately

  • Cancel Subscription UI — New cancellation flow with confirmation dialog

  • Agent Simplification — Removed Active/Draft status and Voice Calls toggle from agents (agents are voice personas only)

SIP Trunking, Department Routing & Voicemail Detection

  • SIP Trunking (BYOC) — Connect your existing PBX or carrier to Akol via SIP. Create trunks, get credentials, assign phone numbers, and verify connections. Supports PCMU, PCMA, G722, and Opus codecs
  • Department Routing — Route transferred calls to the right team automatically. Configure departments with names, phone numbers, and keywords — your AI agent matches callers to the right department
  • Hold Music — Play music during warm transfers. Choose from 5 built-in tracks or use your own audio file
  • Configurable Transfer Timeouts — Set how long to wait for a human to pick up during warm transfers (10–120 seconds). If nobody answers, your AI agent resumes the call
  • Voicemail Detection (AMD) — Automatically detect voicemails on outbound campaign calls. Leave a custom message, play a pre-recorded audio, or hang up
