Connect Zoho CRM to automatically sync call data, create contacts and leads, and log every conversation in your CRM.

What It Does

  • Creates contacts and leads — New callers are added to Zoho CRM automatically
  • Logs calls — Every call is logged with duration, result, and AI summary
  • Searches contacts — Looks up existing contacts and leads by phone or email
  • Creates deals — Optionally create deals from qualified calls
  • Syncs both ways — Pull contact data from Zoho CRM to enrich calls

How to Connect

Open Integrations

Go to Dashboard > Integrations and find Zoho CRM.

Click Connect

Click the Connect button. You’ll be redirected to Zoho’s authorization page.

Sign In and Authorize

Sign in with your Zoho account and grant Akol permission to access your CRM data.

You’re Connected

You’ll be redirected back to Akol. Your Zoho CRM is now linked.

Zoho CRM has regional data centers (US, EU, IN, AU, etc.). Akol automatically detects and connects to the correct region.

What Happens After a Call

  1. Akol searches Zoho for the caller’s phone number
  2. If not found, a new Contact or Lead is created
  3. The call is logged with type, duration, result, and AI-generated notes
  4. Optionally, a Deal is created for qualified leads

Troubleshooting

Data Not Syncing

  1. Check that the integration shows as connected in Dashboard > Integrations
  2. Zoho tokens refresh automatically — if issues persist, disconnect and reconnect
  3. Verify your Zoho CRM edition supports API access

Contacts Created as Leads Instead

  1. Zoho distinguishes Contacts from Leads — Akol creates Leads for new prospects
  2. Convert Leads to Contacts in Zoho when they become customers

Rate Limiting

  1. Zoho CRM has API rate limits based on your edition
  2. Akol throttles requests automatically to stay within limits

Tips

  1. Set up lead conversion rules — Define when Leads should become Contacts in Zoho
  2. Use deal creation for sales teams — Automatically track revenue opportunities
  3. Check call logs in Zoho — Verify calls are being logged correctly under each contact
