Connect Twilio to manage phone numbers, send SMS messages, and use Twilio as an alternative telephony provider.

What It Does

  • Phone number management — Browse, purchase, and configure Twilio phone numbers
  • Send SMS — Send text messages to callers (confirmations, follow-ups, reminders)
  • Appointment reminders — Automatic SMS reminders before scheduled appointments
  • Call recordings — Access call recordings stored in Twilio
  • Usage tracking — Monitor your Twilio account usage and costs

How to Connect

Get Your Credentials

In Twilio, go to Console > Account Info and copy your Account SID and Auth Token.

Open Integrations

Go to Dashboard > Integrations and find Twilio.

Enter Your Credentials

Enter your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token.

Click Connect

Click Connect to activate the integration.

Troubleshooting

SMS Not Sending

  1. Verify your Twilio account has sufficient balance
  2. Check that your Auth Token is correct and hasn’t been rotated
  3. Ensure your Twilio phone number has SMS capabilities enabled

Phone Number Issues

  1. Verify the phone number is active in your Twilio console
  2. Check that the number is configured for the correct capabilities (voice, SMS)

Authentication Errors

  1. Twilio Auth Tokens can be rotated — make sure you’re using the current one
  2. Update your credentials in Dashboard > Integrations > Twilio

Tips

  1. Use a dedicated number — Get a Twilio number specifically for Akol SMS messages
  2. Set up A2P messaging — Register for A2P 10DLC if sending business SMS in the US
  3. Monitor costs — Check your Twilio dashboard regularly for usage and charges
