Microsoft Teams
Connect Microsoft Teams to receive call notifications and summaries directly in your Teams channels.
What It Does
- Call alerts — Get notified in Teams when calls start and end
- Call summaries — Receive rich Adaptive Card summaries with sentiment indicators
- Appointment notifications — Alerts when your agent books an appointment
- Alert notifications — Severity-coded alerts for complaints and urgent matters
How to Connect
Open Integrations
Go to Dashboard > Integrations and find Microsoft Teams.
Click Connect
Click the Connect button. You’ll be redirected to Microsoft’s sign-in page.
Sign In and Authorize
Sign in with your Microsoft account and grant Akol permission to access your Teams.
Select a Team and Channel
Choose which Team and channel should receive notifications.
You’re Connected
You’ll be redirected back to Akol. Notifications will appear in your selected channel.
Microsoft Teams uses the same Microsoft account as Outlook Calendar. If you’ve already connected Outlook, you may not need to sign in again.
Settings
Choose Your Team and Channel
- Go to Dashboard > Integrations > Microsoft Teams
- Click Settings
- Select your preferred Team and channel
- Click Save
Troubleshooting
Not Receiving Notifications
- Verify the correct Team and channel are selected
- Check that the Akol app hasn’t been removed from your Teams workspace
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting
”Insufficient Permissions” Error
- You need to be a Team owner or have permission to install apps
- Ask your Teams administrator to approve the Akol integration
Connection Expired
- Microsoft tokens expire periodically — Akol refreshes them automatically
- If notifications stop, try disconnecting and reconnecting to generate a fresh token
Tips
- Use a dedicated channel — Create a channel like “Akol Notifications” to keep things organized
- Share with your team — Make sure everyone who needs call visibility is in the channel
- Use Adaptive Cards — Teams notifications include interactive cards with call details
