How to Connect

Set Up WhatsApp Business API

You’ll need a Meta Business account with the WhatsApp Business API enabled. Get your access token and phone number ID from the Meta Developer Dashboard.

Open Integrations

Go to Dashboard > Integrations and find WhatsApp.

Enter Your Credentials

Enter your WhatsApp access token and phone number ID.

Click Connect

Click Connect to activate the integration.

WhatsApp Business API requires a Meta Business account and an approved WhatsApp Business phone number. This is different from the regular WhatsApp app.

Troubleshooting

Messages Not Delivered

  1. Verify the recipient has WhatsApp installed on their phone number
  2. Check that your access token is valid and not expired
  3. For template messages, ensure the template is approved by Meta

Template Rejected

  1. Templates must be approved by Meta before use
  2. Check Meta’s template guidelines for content and formatting requirements

24-Hour Window

  1. WhatsApp requires a pre-approved template for messages sent more than 24 hours after the last user interaction
  2. Use template messages for follow-ups outside the 24-hour window

Tips

  1. Create message templates — Pre-approve templates in Meta for use outside the 24-hour window
  2. Use for confirmations — WhatsApp has higher open rates than email for appointment reminders
  3. Respect opt-out — Stop messaging contacts who ask to be removed
