Troubleshooting
SMS Not Sending
- Verify your Telnyx API key is valid
- Check that your phone number has SMS capabilities
- For US messaging, ensure A2P registration is complete
Wrong “From” Number
- Set your default “from” number in the integration settings
- Or configure a messaging profile in your Telnyx account
Messages Not Received
- Check the recipient’s phone number format (E.164 required)
- Verify the recipient hasn’t blocked your number
- Check your Telnyx portal for delivery status
Tips
- Use a messaging profile — Telnyx messaging profiles help with carrier routing and deliverability
- Register for A2P — Required for business SMS in the US
- Keep messages short — SMS has a 160-character limit per segment; longer messages cost more
